We partnered with an event planning client from New Zealand to custom-design their latest Magazine Photo Booth.

As an experienced bespoke manufacturer, we understand that every international collaboration tests both product quality and service capabilities. This year, we partnered with an event planning client from New Zealand to custom-design their latest Magazine Photo Booth. From initial discussions to the product's grand unveiling at the event, this project brimmed with intricate details, challenges, and delightful surprises. It demonstrated how transoceanic collaboration can be successfully executed, earning our client's utmost satisfaction.

I. Initial Contact: A New Zealand Inquiry Sows the Project's Seed

This New Zealand client is an experienced event planner specialising in weddings, corporate parties, and branded themed events.

While browsing social media, he discovered our factory's portfolio of photo booths and backdrop installations. Captivated by the Magazine Photo Booth, he proactively reached out.

His opening line was direct:‘I need a photo installation that compels guests to take pictures the moment they see it. Can you create this for me?’

We were well aware that New Zealand event scenes favour a clean, bright, and sophisticated visual aesthetic. We promptly compiled relevant customisation case studies, design sketches, and visual demonstrations of various magazine cover styles to send him. Upon receiving the materials, the client's interest visibly heightened, remarking:‘Your work is more professional and visually impactful than anything I've seen locally.’ Thus, this transoceanic collaboration formally commenced.

II. Deepening Requirements: Multiple Rounds of Communication from Cover Style to Material Presentation

To accurately grasp the client's visual preferences and the theme of his planned event, we engaged in detailed discussions:  He sought to convey a ‘modern magazine aesthetic + high-fashion editorial feel’

Colour palettes needed to suit New Zealand's outdoor event photography environments

The logo and title required simplicity yet distinct visibility

The product must be sturdy, portable, and easy to assemble/disassemble for reuse across multiple events

Integrating these requirements, our design team swiftly proposed three distinct cover concepts:

Pure white minimalist style — ideal for weddings and outdoor garden events

Black-gold textured style — suited for parties, celebrations, and brand events

Bright colour trend style — perfect for youth demographics and shopping mall events

Each option included mock-ups with actual layouts, typography, and lighting simulations.

The client ultimately selected the Platinum theme cover, remarking upon seeing the mock-up:

‘This is precisely the effect I envisioned—stylish yet clean, perfectly suited to our event.’

To achieve flawless presentation, we further tailored the typography proportions, logo dimensions, mirror finish, and overall structural framework, ensuring the magazine display box was both aesthetically pleasing and robust.

III. Production Phase: Rigorous Quality Control at Every Stage to Achieve ‘Cover-Grade Visuals’

Following client approval, we commenced production:

1. High-Strength Metal Framework

Utilising thickened galvanised steel plates ensures structural integrity, enabling repeated use without deformation.

2. High-definition mirror testing

We conducted extensive reflection tests under varied lighting conditions to achieve authentic ‘magazine-grade’ photography, eliminating distortion and stray light common in standard mirrors.

3. White-gold spray coating process

Multiple layers of spray coating and drying achieved the soft, crisp aesthetic favoured by our New Zealand client. The client expressed consistent satisfaction with each update, particularly commending our factory's transparency and speed.

This collaboration with our New Zealand client exemplifies a cross-border project achieved through the synergy of ‘professionalism + creativity + quality’. In their final message, the client wrote: ‘Thank you for helping us create a real magazine moment.’

For our factory, this represents not merely a successful project delivery, but an opportunity to showcase our capabilities to the world through our products and services.

Moving forward, we shall continue collaborating with this New Zealand client to develop photo installations across diverse themes. The success of this magazine photo box marks but the beginning.
